SALA Festival at Sedan

Sedan / Fire / Flood / Forward Vision

An exhibition of re-imagining space and place, framed by the Eastern Mt Lofty Ranges; fired by the creative energies of four local artists.

Join with family, friends and community to celebrate the first South Australian Living Artists Festival event to be held at Sedan marked by the opening and community gathering to celebrate the occasion on the 1st August 630pm.

The exhibition represents the work of four local artists, residents of Sedan, Keyneton and Cambrai. Exhibiting artists include Margaret Tepper of Towitta, Joel Zimmerman, Cambrai, Peter Jesser of Sedan, Tammy Stoeckel, Swan Reach, and Alexandra Devitt Lansom from Keyneton.

The works include the watercolours and oils of Peter Jesser, art dolls and paintings by Margaret Tepper, sculptural works by Ali Devitt Lansom and young artist Joel Zimmerman and trompe l'oeil by Tammy Stoeckel.

The exhibition will run 11am to 3pm on the 2nd and 3rd August, 9thand 10th August, 16th and 17th  and 23rd 24th August 2014.

Please join the local community in commemorating this land mark celebration of arts and cultural pride in Sedan and surrounding towns of the Mid Murray Council district. We welcome all to our opening night on the Friday 1st August at 630 - 730pm at the Sedan Hall. Visitors will be treated to a complimentary glass of wine and nibbles.

Over the years the Sedan Hall has celebrated births, marriages and significant community events, performances, school graduations and end of year events; but this year is the first art exhibition in its 100 year history.

It is a wonderful hall with a great history that has just seen some major restoration works completed by local people over the past three months. It is an important community asset and the Sedan Progress Association that has organised the exhibition, commends the contribution from Mid Murray Council and Country Arts SA in its development.
